Master Class for English Teachers in the Secondary Grammar School of Velika Dobrony

On 26th March 26 English teachers gathered together for a Master Class in the Secondary Grammar School of Velika Dobrony. The seminar started at 10 o’clock with the service of the school’s choir and orchestra. After that, the headmaster, Erika Gal welcomed everyone in the room and showed them around the school and the dormitory. The school was founded on 15th August, 1995 and there are 175 students study there. Being a boarding school, there are 130 students live in the dormitory. At 10: 40 a Master Class was led by Magdalyna Borovska. The topic was: Teaching Modal Verbs in the 10th form with the help of New Headway Pre-Intermediate 4th edition written by John and Liz Soars. There were all the four language skills presented: reading, listening, speaking and writing. Thanks to the visual aids (smartboard, book, workbook, recorder) and the activities (listening, group work) eveyone had a good time. After the master class Erzhebet Myshak gave a presentation about the Characteristic and Distinctive Properties of the English Language in Christian Schools. At 11:30 there was a discussion about the given master class and Maryna Tereschuk informed the English teachers what they should know about the upcoming ЗНО. The seminar ended with a very nice lunch at 12:00 o’clock.
